Counseling Approach
My heart is to create a warm non-judgmental space for my
clients to experience safety, compassion, and healing. I allow the client to
focus therapy on the areas and concerns that are most important to them. I use
therapeutic tools and interventions to help the client deepen their emotional
insight, navigate hardship, and build resilience. I believe in the power of the
therapeutic relationship to bring freedom, healing, and change and use
evidence-based practices to achieve these metrics. For clients who express
interest, I integrate Christian practices and values into therapy and encourage
the client to build their relationship with God as a means to find lasting
healing and change.
Counseling Experience
I am training to be become a licensed clinical psychologist
through the Doctor of Psychology program at George Fox University’s Graduate
School of Clinical Psychology. I have experience working in therapeutic
settings with adolescents and young adults dealing with depression, anxiety,
trauma, drug addiction, eating disorders, personality disorders, learning
disorders, psychotic disorders, and developmental disorders. I also have
experience working directly with houseless populations.
Ministry Experience
I have served in pastoral care ministry at multiple churches.
I currently serve in pastoral care ministry as a certified Stephen’s Minister
at a local church, where I meet with care receivers who are experiencing
significant life challenges, such as legal issues, divorce, and serious medical
diagnoses. I’m active as a volunteer leader in a local church ministry, where I
lead small groups and serve as a mentor for adolescents.
