Counseling Experience

Melinda comes to ANLCC with over 12 years of mental health work experience, having been trained in a range of therapeutic processes including Person-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She has worked with children and adults, ranging from age 7 to 87, with an array of mental health diagnoses and life stressors. She currently works for Cascadia Health as a Skills Trainer and Qualified Mental Health Associate.

Counseling Approach

I believe the most effective therapeutic relationships are built faith, trust, authenticity, freedom, and positive outcomes. As a counseling intern, one of my greatest joys is helping others heal by meeting them where they are on life's journey and walking with them to where they want to be. I believe that clients are their own best resource when it comes to treatment and know themselves better than anyone. I see therapy as a joint venture where our knowledge and skills are combined to create solutions and resolve barriers to living your best life.

I am excited to be a part of A New Life Christian Counseling, where I can incorporate my faith into the counseling process when working with believers. I believe God should be in every part of our lives and the foundation of the counseling process.
